Viswam (meaning The Universe) is a 2024 Telugu action-comedy movie directed by Srinu Vaitla. The story was written by Vaitla along with Gopimohan, Bhanu-Nandu and Praveen Varma. It was produced by Chitralayam Studios and People Media Factory. The movie stars Gopichand and Kavya Thapar in lead roles, offering a fun mix of action and comedy.
Music including lyrics and background score was composed by Chaitan Bharadwaj. The film’s visuals are handled by cinematographer K.V. Guhane did and Amar Reddy Kudumula handled the editing.

Viswam Release Date OTT
Releasing in theaters on October 11 during Dussehra, the film is gearing up for an early release on OTT platforms for Diwali. Reports say that Amazon Prime Video has bought the streaming rights for Rs 12 crore. The platform is planning to release the film on October 29 to celebrate the festival. If that date doesn’t work out, they might release it on November 3 instead.

Viswam Review: Plot & Storyline
The movie is filled with lots of characters and various side stories, aiming to provide complete entertainment. It has action scenes, romance, emotional drama and silly comedy, but 155 minutes of convoluted storyline can be boring to watch, especially if you don’t overlook the lack of logic.
The first few minutes set up what’s next. A terrorist who has infiltrated political and academic circles in the Telugu states reveals his true identity when a student detonates a bomb in a restaurant. The general India vs. Pakistan theme is reused with a focus on religious issues. Before you can fully understand what is happening, the story quickly cuts to the politician being killed and his brother being controlled by a terrorist, who is on a deadly mission.
You’d think dealing with a terrorist network would be urgent, but the movie only presents this part of the story when it feels like it, ignoring it at other times. The director, Vishwam, introduces several characters, each one more ridiculous or funnier than the last.
Gopi (played by Gopichand) identifies himself as the son of a man named Bull Reddy and becomes enraged, beating up anyone who says anything bad about his father. This includes using some Telugu slang that is better left unspoken. In a surprising twist, he helps his friend Jali Reddy (played by Prudhvi) from being a worker to become the owner of a fancy apartment building, where he takes revenge on his former bosses (Naresh and Pragati).
