RRR (Subtitled Raudram Ranam Rudhiram) is a 2022 Telugu language historical action drama film directed by S.S. by Rajamouli, who wrote the screenplay with Vijayendra Prasad. DVV under DVV Entertainment. Produced by Danaiya, the film stars N.T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirkani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris. The film is a fictional tribute to two legendary Indian freedom fighters, Alluri Sitaram Raju (played by Charan) and Komaram Bheem (played by Rama Rao), celebrating their close friendship and their struggle against British colonial oppression.
Filming took place in various locations in India with some sequences shot in Ukraine and Bulgaria. The soundtrack was composed by M.M and the background score was composed by Kirwani, while the cinematography was by K.K. By Senthil Kumar and edited by A. Done by Shrikar Prasad. Production design was handled by Sabu Cyril, with V. Srinivas Mohan was supervising the visual effects. Rajamouli reimagines the story of Ram Raju and Bhima’s meeting in 1920s Delhi, as two powerful forces unite against colonial oppression. Announced in March 2018, principal photography began in Hyderabad in November 2018, with production delayed until August 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
