Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is a 2023 Hindi romantic comedy and family drama film directed by Karan Johar. The story is written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. It stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as a couple with very different personalities. They decide to stay with each other’s families for three months before marriage. The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir and Kshithi Jog as his family members.
Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the film was announced in July 2021, Johar’s directorial return after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016. Filming took place from August 2021 to March 2023 in Mumbai, New Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. . The release was delayed by a few months due to Alia Bhatt’s pregnancy. Pritam composed the music with the audio rights purchased by Saregama. The film was edited by Nitin Baid and the cinematography was done by Manush Nandan.
