I Movie Release Date
I was released on January 14, 2015 to coincide with the Pongal festival. The film was widely praised by critics, who highlighted its impressive direction, powerful performances (especially from Vikram, Suresh Gopi and Amy Jackson), stunning cinematography, visual effects, production design, action choreography and music. However, it received some criticism for its long runtime, pacing and editing choices.
Story:
Lingeshwar (Vikram) is an ardent bodybuilder from the slums with dreams far beyond his circumstances. Training tirelessly at his father’s gym, he aims to first win the title of Mr. Andhra and eventually become Mr. India. After intense dedication and hard work, he achieves his first goal by emerging as Sri Andhra. But with fame, new rivals emerge, which bring difficulties in his life.
However, Lingeshwara’s heart belongs to someone special – model Diya (Amy Jackson), whom he adores obsessively. She collects anything related to her from magazine covers to personal items. As fate would have it, his success eventually leads Diya into his life.
While Dia enjoys a glamorous career, she faces trouble in the form of her fellow model, John (Upen Patel), who constantly pursues her. To fend off John’s advances, Diya invites Lingeshwara on a trip to China. There, Lingeshwara reinvented himself as “Lee” and together, Lee and Dia became a power couple in the modeling world. Lee now has it all: fame, fortune and the woman he has always admired. But is this the fairytale ending he dreamed of, or is there a hidden darkness that threatens their seemingly perfect love story?

Artists:
Vikram once again proves his versatility and dedication, showing why he is one of the finest actors in Tamil cinema. Lingeshwar’s physical transformation at different stages of his life, especially as a powerful bodybuilder and later as a Kundala, is impressive and adds depth to his character.
Amy Jackson shines in her role as a glamorous supermodel, bringing both charm and depth, especially in the second half, where the complexity of her character emerges.
Suresh Gopi portrays the role of the doctor with a smooth and engaging presence. Upen Patel is charming and makes a strong impression with one of his longest roles to date. Stylist Ojas Rajani, who plays Ojas Jasmine, a flamboyant makeup artist with a crush on Lee, gives a believable and memorable performance. Rajini also famously styled Aishwarya Rai’s look in Robot.
And, as expected in any big Tamil film, Santhanam adds his signature humor and charm, making his scenes enjoyable.
