L2: Empuraan, also known as L2E, is an upcoming Malayalam-language action thriller film directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopi. It is the second part of the planned trilogy after the 2019 hit movie Lucifer.
Written by Murali Gopi, the story is a sequel to Prithviraj’s directorial debut Lucifer. With a whopping budget of ₹400 crore, the film marks the third collaboration between Mohanlal and Prithviraj after Lucifer and Bro Daddy. The film is jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Vijay Kirgandur and Supriya Menon under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas, Humble Films and Prithviraj Productions. Music is composed by Deepak Dev and cinematography is handled by Sujith Vasudev.
The project is co-produced by Lyka Productions and Ashirvad Cinemas. The cast features Mohanlal along with Stephen Nedumpalli/Khureshi Abram, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sania Ayyappan, Saikumar, Baiju Santosh, Fazil and Sachin Khedekar, who reprise their roles from the original film.
